     Taga Latty Stone Quarry, Rota

       Rota Latty Stone Quarry
Rota Latte Stone Quarry, also known as the As Nieves quarry, is located near the Chamorro village of
Sinapalo, on the island of Rota in the Marianas. The prehistoric megaliths found there are believed to
have been used as foundation pillars for houses, with some of them weighing up to 35 tons. Their exact
age, origin, methods of quarrying and means of transportation have not been determined.

latte stone pillar (also called a taga stone)[2] is a two-piece structure consisting of a base (haligi) and            hemispherical cap (tasa), with the flat side turned upwards. It is believed that the prehistoric latte stone            pillars were used as housing foundations for the indigenous culture of the Marianas. The homes sat on            top of two parallel rows of the pillars, and the Chamorro, or their ancestors, buried their dead between
the rows.[3] The stones pre-date any retained oral history of the Chamorro, who cite the original source
of the stones as the "taotaomona" (before time people). The exact age of the stones has not been
determined, but some are believed to date back to at least 845 AD. Carbon dating places the indigenous
population as far back as 3,000 BC.[4].

Education Technology Cohort 12 - End of Course Reflection:

  • What have you learned in this course?
Google Apps has many wonderful developed programs that are user friendly, provide many video tutorials
on how to use and navigate the tools and system for each icon provision. As an educator, entrepreneur,
or student in primary, secondary, or college. The Google Industry has made many things possible for our
world to function better, quicker, faster, network, message, communicate in real time, or even navigate the
world on a laptop, desktop, cell phone and more devices imaginable. I really liked Google Maps and
Earth, as it really opened my eyes on how technology has grown and developed in time. Always
improving it's tools and features offering a better experience for the users. Google Calendar - Helped me
understand how to place other friendly calendars on my account, enter events, provide reminder emails,
and more. Google Email: I learned that it had a side panel with options to access apps selection of
choice. Google Task: Is a "Go To" Reminder: Like a Post It! Quick Note! Google Slides: Insert Links, I
Images, and Information, a great tools usually used for Project Based Learning or Presentations for kids;
Daily Lesson Plan Template & Routines Use; Interscholastic Sports - Create Slides to Include: Game
Rules, Definitions, Game Play Strategies, Videos.

  • Share ideas about how you plan to integrate Google Applications into your practice. Google Apps have already been integrated in Educational practices such as: Google Slides Inserts: YouTube Videos; Photos or Images; Web Links; Select Templates for User Types.  Google Slides is a common practice amongst Elementary Teachers: Instructional Displays of Daily Routines, Scheduled Time or Events; Bullet Announcements; Lesson Plan Instructions; Links; Educational Apps, and more.  The use and navigation of Google Earth to learn more about the Geography of our world locations, natural resources, historical landmarks, and virtual field trips.  Have students make their own slides of a future travel destination, vacation experiences, or bucket list of wishful must travel locations.  Google Calendar can be used for students to input important upcoming events as posted in school, CNMI-PSS Calendar and Anchored Events.

  • Which Google App would you like to learn more about?
Excel Spreadsheet would be a Google App that I have limited knowledge about. For Data, Research,
Collecting Data, Providing Charts for Reporting. Enter Codes for Calculation and overall learn more on
how to use the tools available.
